THE ANDRABI GENEALOGY
Genealogy has always been close to the heart of Syeds, primarily because of the huge reverence they have for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the legacy & responsibility that comes with being his decendants.
The work on creation of this genealogy database commenced under the guidance of Late Syed Ghulam Jeelani Andrabi (Abaji) who did the initial research and provided the core details which laid the foundation for its development. Sadly Abaji passed away in 2012 before seeing the results of his painstaking work. May Allah reward him and bless him with Jannat-ul-Firdous.
The Andrabi Syeds' trace their lineage to the Prophet of Allah Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH) through Imam Hussain (RA) the Grandson of the Prophet and Son of Hazrat Fatima Zehra (RA) and Hazrat Ali ibn Abu Talib (RA) (the Prophet's cousin).
A detailed ancestry is presented in two formats - both equal but differing in the presentation of lines, relationships and trees. Some original references are also given below.
